Introducing the 2025 Jeep Wrangler

As a Jeep dealer, we feel it is a privilege to sell the Jeep Wrangler. After all, while there are many SUVs in this world, there truly is only one Wrangler. No other vehicle has the same rugged good looks, legendary capability, and long-standing record of excellence as the Jeep Wrangler.
The 2025 Jeep Wrangler is no exception to this rule. For 2025, the Wrangler lineup consists of six core trims: the Sport, Sport S, Willys, Sahara, Rubicon, and Rubicon X. Jeep is slowly phasing out the V8-powered Rubicon 392 Final Edition through the 2025 model year, so you might see a few of those on the roadways and trails as well. No matter which Wrangler you choose, you know you’ll be behind the wheel of a Trail Rated vehicle that can handle a wide variety of terrain and weather conditions.
If you’re not sure which trim is right for you, consider this your 2025 Jeep Wrangler trim guide. Read on to determine which Wrangler trim level is a good fit for your lifestyle and driving style.
The 2025 Jeep Wrangler: Performance by Trim
For the Jeep Wrangler, the word “performance” means different things. Wranglers aren’t expected to have blazing hot 0-60 mph acceleration times (although the Rubicon 392 certainly does). They have some admirable towing capability—up to 5,000 pounds on a correctly outfitted four-door Rubicon—but they aren’t moving massive trailers. But Wranglers aren’t that kind of SUV. They’re the SUV for those who require a little more adventure than the average driver.
The standard power plant for nearly all 2025 Wrangler trims is a well-known, highly-respected 3.6L Pentastar V6 that is a tradition in itself. Good for 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, this engine is capable of doing plenty of work. However, for the 2025 model year, this engine is now only available with a six-speed manual transmission.
For those not looking to row their own gears, Jeep offers a 2.0L turbocharged engine. Standard on the Sahara trim and optional on all others, this engine provides a mighty 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission is standard with this option.

The Jeep Ruggedness Factor
Then comes the matter of four-wheel drive. The Jeep Wrangler is renowned for offering standard stability and traction, but drivers who are new to the Jeep family are often surprised to learn that there are multiple four-wheel drive options available throughout the lineup.
Standard on most 2025 Wrangler trims is Jeep’s Command-Trac Part-Time four-wheel drive, which provides stability and a low range for conquering rocks and other unstable terrain. The full-time Selec-Trac four-wheel drive, which will automatically select between two-wheel drive on the pavement and four-wheel drive in wet and wild weather, is an available option.
The Wrangler Rubicon and Rubicon X trims feature a part-time Rock-Trac system with a best-in-class 100:1 crawl ratio for incredible torque when off-roading. A full-time Rock-Trac four-wheel drive system is also available on these trims, combining the automatic engagement of the Selec-Trac system with the upgraded capabilities of the Rock-Trac system.
What’s New for the 2025 Jeep Wrangler
For each model year, Jeep is careful to bring in plenty of new features and technology while paying homage to the Wrangler’s traditions. The 2025 Jeep Wrangler now comes with standard power locks and power windows. With the exception of the Sahara, Wranglers are available in two-door and four-door configurations. Full doors with roll-up windows are standard, along with a black soft-top.
However, Wrangler drivers are offered plenty of customization opportunities. Hard tops, mesh tops, and power-operated retractable cloth tops are all options Wrangler drivers can choose to fulfill their driving dreams. Additionally, Jeep has introduced some new colors, including ‘41, which was inspired by the military olive drab color of the first Jeep vehicles.
As mentioned earlier, the Jeep Wrangler 392 Final Edition will officially halt production after the 2025 model year. This truly special trim features an exclusive 6.4L HEMI V8 engine that takes the excitement level up several notches with 470 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque. With its 4.56 axle ratio, 1.5-inch factory lift, beadlock-capable wheels, and cold-air intake hood with water separator, this is the Jeep that redefined how we think about the capability of a Wrangler.

Which Trim to Choose If…
Many drivers come to us asking which Jeep Wrangler trim is the best fit for them. We love taking the time to get to know drivers like you so we can get a feel for how they plan to use their Wrangler. There are so many factors that go into deciding which trim is the best for you that it would be difficult to capture all of them here.
However, we can help you get started on your search for a 2025 Jeep Wrangler by asking just a couple of quick questions about your driving habits. Do you plan to do a ton of off-roading? We’re not talking about the occasional dirt road or gravel driveway—we’re talking about serious travel in places where you have to know how to navigate ditches, drops, and climbs.
If this is exactly what you’re looking for, you might want to narrow your search to the Willys, Rubicon, and Rubicon X trims. Offered in both two-door and four-door versions, these trims include a ton of specialized features for those who don’t spend a lot of time on the pavement, including Off-Road+ mode. At the touch of the button labeled “Off-Road+,” drivers can adjust the throttle, transmission, and traction control for unparalleled control. The Rubicon and Rubicon X trims extend this capability in every possible way, adding features such as locking front and rear differentials, an electronic swaybar disconnect, and a Dana 44 full-float rear axle.
But what if you spend most of your time on the pavement? Whether you simply admire the Wrangler aesthetic and capability or need a daily driver that can moonlight on the trails, you might want to consider the Sport and Sport S trims. With standard features like a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment display, Uconnect 5 audio and hands-free phone connectivity, and Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, the 2025 Wrangler is certainly endearing to daily drivers. Stepping up to the Sport S trim adds plenty of extras, like power heated mirrors, a Corning Gorilla Glass windshield, and a variety of optional packages that add more driver assistance technologies, luxury touches like heated seats, and even an Alpine premium audio system.
Shopping for Your 2025 Jeep Wrangler
The Jeep Wrangler is one of the most customizable vehicles on the road today, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get as close to your ideal as possible with the many factory-installed features offered throughout the lineup. Shopping for a brand-new Wrangler can be a little intimidating, especially with so many trims and options offered. However, one way to ease the process is to focus on what you plan to do with your new Jeep and what features you need to make that happen. Wranglers differ from other models in that the most expensive trim isn’t necessarily the most luxurious, but it is the most capable. The 2025 Jeep Wrangler lineup has a lot to offer, with each trim having a distinct personality and capabilities. Which one will you choose?
