This is the most powerful engine for the Ram 2500 and provides it with the highest towing capacity possible.
There is a third option if you are looking for even more power, though it is only offered on the 2022 Ram 3500, not the 2500. This is a high-output version of the Cummins Turbo Diesel engine, which is tuned to deliver 420 hp and 1,075 lb-ft of torque. We might not have to point out just how much greater torque this is, but we will anyways: it is more than two-and-a-half times more powerful than the standard engine in these trucks. If you want the absolute highest towing capacity possible with the Ram 3500, then this is the engine for you. Both versions of the diesel engine come with a 6-speed automatic transmission that is perfectly tuned for diesel performance.
